Frommer's Review of Lansdowne Resort
"This luxurious complex between Leesburg and Dulles airport is one of Virginia's better all-around resorts. The centerpiece nine-story hotel building is surrounded by 205 acres alongside the Potomac River. Covering much of that land are 45 holes of golf on three courses, including a Greg Norman-designed 18-holer, all overseen by a clubhouse. An indoor pool off a full-service spa opens to no less than four outdoor pools with water slides and other contraptions to keep both adults and children thoroughly entertained. The four restaurants include the Lansdowne Grill, one of the better steakhouses in these parts. A family-style restaurant, an English pub, and a seasonal poolside snack bar round out the existing dining options. A California wine-country theme distinguishes the guest accommodations, all in the central building. Units on the top floor have marvelous views of the Potomac River Valley. My money goes for an alcove suite with bay windows. Look for ex-Washington Redskins wandering around in July during Hall of Famer Bobby Mitchell's charity golf tournament."

The Health Club at Lansdowne will bring your fitness routine to new heights. Work out in the state-of-the-art facility, and/or join one of their yoga or pilates classes. They have a great schedule of variety of classes. For a change of pace, rent a mountain bike and explore the scenic nature paths meandering throughout the resort.
