Announcing A New GMS Location!!

GMS Midwest - Lake Geneva, Wisconsin!

We interrupt our regularly scheduled golf instruction to make a special announcement. GMS is proud to announce the June 7th opening of our newest GMS location in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We normally reserve this space to speak about ways to improve your golf game (and we’ll get back to that next week). However, every once in a while we need to make a special announcement.

The excellent Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is located just 1 hour outside Chicago and offers us: two 18-hole golf courses, excellent practice facilities, a 4 Diamond rated hotel right on property, restaurants, spa, etc. in the Midwest’s #1 vacation destination!

In years past, GMS was primarily located in the southern United States; however over the last few years we have continued to expand to more northern locations for the summer months. 7 of our locations could be called Winter locations for Golfers coming south to escape the cold (4 in Florida, 1 in La Quinta, California, 1 in Phoenix, Arizona and 1 in Sotogrande, Spain).

We have now expanded our Summer locations by one more -- the Grand Geneva Resort.

With the opening of our newest location - this means that GMS will have a Summer location in all 4 US Time Zones (in the Continental US) from June through October!

1. Eastern Time - Washington DC at Lansdowne Resort
2. Central Time - Lake Geneva, Wisconsin at Grand Geneva Resort
3. Mountain Time - Denver, Colorado at Green Valley Ranch
4. Pacific Time - Lake Tahoe, California at Whitehawk Ranch

A Little More About The Newest GMS Location

The Grand Geneva Resort

Why have we chosen the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin? You mean besides having the best practice facilities around, two excellent golf courses and having a hotel right on property? Maybe the details below can answer some of those questions for you:

First
- Accessibility: Grand Geneva Resort is located just 1 hour west of Chicago’s O’Hare Airport and 45 minutes from Milwaukee’s Mitchell Airport. Sitting on 1,300 acres of rolling terrain – the resort is located in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Second
- The golf courses: Grand Geneva Resort has 36 holes of golf and an excellent practice facility. And what's also great is that each hole is bordered by nature - not houses - it's absolutely beautiful! A double-sided practice range and a dedicated short game facility.

Third
– Accommodations: Tucked within historic Lake Geneva, Grand Geneva Resort is one of only three AAA Four-Diamond resorts in Wisconsin. And spread over the 1,300 acre resort is a full service Spa, outdoor pool, three restaurants, horseback riding, miles and miles of hiking, biking and jogging trails, as well as it's own 4,100 foot executive airport.

Fourth
- Additional thoughts: If you're a Golfer, it's obvious why this is such a great facility to have a GMS program. However, an additional bonus is what's available if you want to bring a non-golfing spouse or children. With the fantastic pools on property, the historic sites of the Lake Geneva area just down the road, full service spa, plus all the other activities on property.... the rest of the family will have plenty of activities to occupy their time.

Who is this location perfect for:

• The Golfer that wants to be immersed in the GMS program all day, sit-down for a great meal each night and then have a comfortable night sleep before doing it all over again the next day

• The family on vacation - while you take care of your golf game with GMS, Grand Geneva Resort has much to offer your family: tennis, indoor and outdoor pools, horseback riding, spa, fitness center, hiking paths, bike riding. Plus everything the local area has to offer!

“Our Weekend With GMS Was Fabulous!”

Dear Marc,

I wanted to follow up and tell you that our weekend at Golf Made Simple with Hayden was fabulous. He did a great job and he explained many of the concepts and drills in a way that we had never heard before.

As far as the playing lesson - he was phenomenal. He was by our side (all four of us) on every shot. I am still not sure how he was able to manage that. And in addition, when he stood by our side he had good questions to ask us, like:

What is your plan?

Why do you want to use that club?
What do you think went wrong with that swing? Pace of swing, length of swing or centerness of contact?

Before we played he had talked to us about accepting bad shots and the pros and their percentages of bad shots. He set us up to have a better attitude. He was very supportive.

Anyway, we wanted to get back to you and let you know how much we appreciated the professionalism of your company and program.

I will be passing on the word about Golf Made Simple whenever I can. And I would not be surprised if we come back as well!

Thanks again,

“I Will Tell Anyone That Will Listen How Great GMS Is!”

Alex & Alex (and Sam),

I wanted to send an email expressing my gratitude for the instruction I received at the GMS 1.5 class in La Quinta on Feb 22-24.

First off, SilverRock is an incredible resort! The driving range area is nicer than the fairways on most courses I play. That was the best course I have ever been to---great job with selecting it!

Sam Burge was our instructor and he blew my expectations away. He was able to build upon what we learned in GMS 1.0 and take my game to the next level. I now fully appreciate the brilliance of the GMS drills that Marc has created.

Sam has a very rare combination of personality & teaching skills and he worked so hard until he found the best way to help me understand the drills & their purpose. Sam took the time to really understand my game, my strengths, my weaknesses & my learning style. He then delivered the instruction in ways that I could absorb.

He is a brilliant instructor & a true professional. It was like he had watched me play golf for years & understood my thinking and could see areas I needed to improve upon. It was the most fun golfing I have ever had in my life & I really liked Sam and his teaching style.

Even better than that was that Sam was a tireless worker. He did whatever was necessary to help us improve and worked some long hours. He knew what I was capable of and pushed me to become better. As a result, I have come back and dedicated myself to a practice plan.

In my 1st round out since I got back, I had 13 GIR and shot an 81 in windy conditions. In my 2nd round, I had 9 GIR and shot a 79 in even windier conditions. The 2nd round was better because I really worked hard to let the bad shots go. Sam helped me understand that was affecting my game & he proved his point. I bogied the 17th hole and then let it go. I focused 1 shot a time and on the 18th hit a 300 yard drive with a slight draw (thanks Sam!!), a 6 iron 190 yards to a tough guarded green & 2 putted for a birdie (and a 79). It felt so good to have been able to forget about the bad shots and just move onto the next shot. And it was more fun because I was in a better mood.

Based on my experience, I tell anyone who will listen how great GMS is and how great the instruction I received from Sam was. Please thank him for his efforts & forward him this email. That is a trip I will never forget and I feel fortunate to have been a part of his class. I look forward to taking GMS 2.0 from him!

Thanks,

John H – Sammamish, Washington - Sent March 23rd, 2010

The Buzz with Alex

This Is Such A Great Location!

The Buzz this week is about how excited we are about our newest location in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin at the Grand Geneva Resort. I can't tell you how nice everyone has been at Grand Geneva as we have been doing our preliminary work to get ready for our first session on June 7th.

Plus, since we made the first official announcement of this new location exclusively to our GMS Alumni Golfers
last week - we have received many emails from Golfers that have previously stayed at Grand Geneva Resort. All of which have been extremely positive about what a great decision we have made to open a new location at such a great resort!

As GMS Alumni Golf Kathy M wrote to us yesterday: "I'm thrilled you opened the GMS location at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva Wis.  I live only 10 mins from there.  It's a wonderful location and anyone going there will love it. I'm so happy about this I will be telling all my golf family and friends.  I'm sure you will do well at this location."

So to everyone in the Midwest ... here we come! We have dates already set-up - some are listed in this issue of GIW and more are listed on our website. However, you can always call us to get the most up-to-date availability.

"How To Practice Like A Player"

Excerpted from GIW Issue 235 - April 2nd, 2008

What would happen if you practiced your golf more this year than last year? Would you be a better Golfer? I guess it depends on what your definition of practice is.

To the mass majority of Golfers - practice is the science of banging golf ball after golf ball on the driving range; one after the other until every ball has been hit as far away from you as possible.

Practice is different things for different people.

For the majority of Golfers - it's about getting …
