"From mid 90's To A 79!"

Hayden,

Just to let you know I really improved and by the end of September, believe it or not, I shot a 79 and that included a 7 on the 18th hole; as I was so excited I blew up. When I came to you if you remember I was about 90 - 95. I remember everything you taught us; you were fantastic and very astute.

I'm looking forward to a really good year of golf in 2009, the club champion asked me to be her partner in the Better Ball competitions for the York District. I'm very excited.

Thank you so much, and best wishes for the Christmas Seasons to you and your family.

"20 Yards More Carry With My Driver!"

Chuck,

Thanks to the different drills I learned how important symmetrical hands are and even more important, to make the transition from the theoretical explanations to a simple golf swing.

Before I could hit the driver 200 yards only (carry), which was close to the same distance as with my 3 wood. Back in Europe now, I did some rounds at my home course. I had a GPS device with me and really could impress my friends with Driver hits of 220 yards carry, eliminating most of the water hazards in the 180 to 200 yard distance at our course. And even better, now I have got a realistic chance, to make much more greens in regulation. On top of that, thanks to the extensive short game exercises, I am not anymore afraid of not hitting the greens, because I know, I get my sand wedge close to the pin.

Last week I shot the round of my life, 9 Par's, of which at least 3 could have been Birdies. I am looking forward for springtime, to play my next tournaments, to see how much I can improve my handicap.

Many thanks to you and I am sure, we will meet again in the future.

"Thanks Again GMS!"

Alex,

I am really impressed with GMS. When I attended GMS in La Quinta my handicap was 24.5. After the 3 day's, I am glad to report that I am now down to a 20.2 and hope to go even lower.

Thanks again GMS! And thanks to you for your interest.

"I Have Improved My Handicap 10 to 11 Strokes!"

Hayden,

I've been doing great and I hope all is going well with you. We're playing at least once a week and I can safely say that I've improved my handicap 10 to 11 strokes. Where I was rarely breaking 100 before GMS - I shot below 90 for the first time ever just 2 months after attending GMS. And since your instruction in April '07; I've shot in the eighties about 10 times. If I'm not in the 80's, I'm consistently in the low 90's.

I'm ready for another session and have been trying to convince everyone else to also do it again.

"I've NEVER Had More Fun On The Golf Course!"

Hi guys - My wife Regina and I went to Boca Raton this past April; I thought it helped so much that I returned with my son Tom in May to St. Augustine. The results? I wanted to play in the upper 80's; I did that consistently all season as well as playing very well on some tough golf courses.

I played on some of America's great courses this summer, including Pebble Beach, Spyglass and Spanish Bay in one incredible weekend in early July. I can't describe my feelings, when on the first tee at Pebble Beach, playing with 3 strangers and in front of 50 other golfers, the starter said, "Mr. McCormack, why don't you get us started?" I was shaking. I put the ball on the tee, stepped back and said, "Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock". I stood over the ball and started my swing, saying "Tick-Tock" as I did so - I hit a bullet down the middle about 240 yards! Playing from the middle tees at Pebble, I shot a 95, Spyglass a 95, Spanish Bay a 90. I was thrilled - these are tough courses and I was holding my own and more.

This past Thursday, I played at Bethpage Black, site of next year's US Open. On a course measuring just under 6,800 yards, on a damp, wet and windy day, I shot a 93 and I tell you, I left some strokes out there!! I had 4 pars on one of the toughest courses in America, including the incredible 4th hole with its multi-leveled fairways and uphill green. I hit a bad drive, but then developed a better "plan": a seven iron to the center of the lower fairway; another 7 iron to the upper fairway, about 75 yards below the pin; a sand wedge tick-tocked to 2 feet and a par putt. Playing The Black was incredibly hard, but I have NEVER had more fun on the golf course and the best was after the round when one of my playing partners who has not seen me play this year said, "Your swing is so much better now. You played great out there!"

I know - tick-tock!!

Thanks for great instruction and a system that really works! I have a feeling I will be coming back in the future and whenever anyone asks, I tell them, "Go to Tick-Tock school".

"More Than A 23% Improvement"

Hello all at GMS,

My handicap has improved quite a bit. I believe I was over an 18 handicap prior to the school and now I'm a 14.3 (which is more than a 23% improvement in 6 months). I now play with a plan and the "blow ups" are few and far between. I still have the occasional "blow up" but I realize that I temporaily forget to plan (bad habits die hard).

"GMS Made The Frustration Go Away"

Marc,

I'm echoing the email in the latest issue o Golf Improvement weekly from the gentleman who broke 90 for the first time. I also broke 90 for the first time a few weeks ago with an 88.

Being from Philadelphia, we are constantly reminded of the famous words of Allen Iverson 'practice, who needs practice?' Well I for one did and do need to practice. I always felt that the more golf I played the better I would get. The fact of the matter is that we all need practice and by attending GMS last February I accomplished what I wanted which was to get an idea as to how to approach the game of golf.

Being an ex basketball and baseball player I thought the game would be easy which it is not, however I'm really enjoying the game so much more now than in the past because I'm no longer frustrated if I screw up a hole or a round. Having the game plan and drills to work on, that I picked up at GMS made the frustration go away and we are going to stay at it and keep having fun.

"I Broke 90 For The First Time!"

Folks at GMS,

I attended camp back in March. Ever since I've being doing my drills, practicing at the range (instead of just hitting balls) and working on chipping and putting (toe of the five iron drill) in my office. I kept working on my goal of breaking 90 for the first time. Well, doing the drills of a player has paid off. Last week I shot an 86 and this week I shot an 82 (41 on the front and the back). I didn't have any spectacular shots (all 2 putts except a 3 putt and a 1 putt). I just avoided mistakes by sticking to my PLAN and playing under control.

What has been most helpful to me about GMS and sticking with the drills and working on my fundamentals is that prior to GMS I didn't know why one shot would be good and another poor. With the tools achieved at GMS I am now able to identify what I'm doing right and wrong without any overly complicated analysis.

I'm sure I'll shoot in the 90s in the future, but I'll keep managing expectations and having fun and who knows - 82 isn't that far from 79 - which is a number before attending GMS that wasn't part of my wildest imagination.

Thanks,

"My Drives Are Now Straight & 260 Yards!"

JEFF - Things are great. I have played three rounds since our fun weekend together. I went to the range and bought some range balls. I began by doing half-swings. After the first 60, something just clicked. Out of the next 60 balls, I probably hit 45 straight, around 260 yards each. I was so filled with joy that I hit another 30 after that. The next day (Tuesday) I went back to the range and hit another 120 balls just to make sure it wasn't a dream. I was still hitting them straight. There was one swing I aimed for a tree that had a "250 yard" sign on the trunk. As the ball took off from my club I could tell it was straight, next thing I knew I heard a "pop." I had hit the sign.

"I Broke 90!"

Marc,

I attended GMS in California a year and a half ago. This last month, the thought pattern and the same repeating swing paid off. Low 90's consistently, drives that found the fairway consistently, and chips that were consistently on the green.

Yesterday, I broke 90, with one birdie, and 5 pars. I accomplished this on a course I had never played. The scorecard didn't have a whole layout so most of the shots I hit were somewhat blind since I really didn't know how the hole was set up.

Just focused on hitting the ball square with the same swing time after time. Not thinking about anything except tick tock

Thanks,

"I Found My Swing!"

GMS, I am rating my second time to GMS this year and I would recommend a second go for anyone. I was really able to "get it" all this time. I played a lot better after my first trip to GMS at Amelia Island in 2007 and after this year's trip to Tahoe I feel I have gotten everything. It has really come together completely for me and I have a much better understanding of the golf swing, and more importantly MY swing. I found my swing!

I know what happened if I do not get the results I want. I don't expect perfect, but you know the bad ones we all hit, now I know just what caused it and what I did, or did not do. The bad swings do not stay with me in my mind. I evaluate them, know precisely what I did or did not do and move on to my pre shot routine on the next shot. I feel more in control of MY PLAN. I can't thank Scott, for the time at Amelia Island; or Chuck, for his time in Lake Tahoe, enough. And thank you Marc Solomon for starting all of this!

"My Average Score Has Improved By 9 Strokes!"

Scott,

Tick Tock and ball striking has improved my average score in the last few weeks by 9 strokes a round. That to me is huge. My woods have become more consistent.

I have been to a lot of instructors and I have been to multiple 3 day programs. Intellectually and physically your program and your keen attention to each of your students was indeed inspirational. Your attention to each person was great and would recommend GMS to all golfers looking for a method to practice drill and improve their fun with the game.

My professional expectations were exceeded. On Monday following my three days with you I attended a Charity tournament. A person I played with four times this year (he is an 8 ) said it was the best tempo and best ball striking he has seen from me. I gave GMS the credit.

Tempo is so improved and the planning of the shots is working. Guys are asking me for advice and I am taking the position I can not teach them, they need to get someone like GMS.

Thanks for the help.

"I Had Never Gotten Compliments Before GMS"

Scott -

Just wanted to take a minute to give you an update.

I ended up playing 15 holes because play was very slow and I had a previous commitment, but when I left, I was 9 over. My irons were great - I was on the green on all of the par 3's. On the longer holes, if I wasn't on the green in regulation, I was close enough to use my newly developed chipping and pitching abilities to take up the slack.

I played with two kids from UT, and they even commented on the fact that I always seemed to be close to the pin on my approach shots. I have NEVER gotten compliments on my short game before GMS. It is really a great feeling knowing that if I miss the green, I have the ability to get the ball close and can give myself a chance to score well. I think that I had more birdie and par putt opportunities than I have ever had in a single round before.

I look forward to continued improvement and also to eventually returning for more instruction.

I wanted to give you an update. I shot an 87 today and hit the ball extremely well. The "tick tock" took all the swing thoughts out of my head. I also concentrated on keeping my hands loose. Thanks again for all your help. I am thrilled to have broken 90 this early in the season.

"Extraordinary Learning Experience"

Hello Paul!

Just a quick note to thank you again for an extraordinary learning experience. I learned far more in three days with you than I have learned in my admittedly long career in golf and I painfully learned that much of what I thought I knew was just plain wrong, and was keeping me stuck.

I have played 8 times since my class in mid February with Chuck in Tampa. Every time I play I improve my overall game and I am now shooting consistently in the 80's!!

I never hit a bad shot when I tick-tock and my short game has improved dramatically because of the Four Factors I learned in my GMS class. I have more confidence standing over the ball now than ever! Thanks to Chuck Williams and GMS!!

"Pleased With My Progress"

Hi Paul,

I've played 20 games since Jan 7th that recorded in my handicap index. 8 of the top 10 scores have happened since I had the 3 day GMS program with you in early Feb. My index has improved from a 23 before the GMS to 20.1 today. A 3 stroke handicap improvement in less than 2 months!

I still have some screw up shots, but that usually happens when I don't use the "tick tock" routine. (Why don't I use it for every shot??).

I'm very pleased with the progress and look forward to an 18 index in the near future!

"A Great Experience ... Again!"

Hi Hayden,

First of all thanks again for your time at South Hampton, it was again a great experience for me. Just a short update:

Played 6 rounds after we met in Saint Augustine, my scores:

40 + 41 = 81
41 + 46 = 87
44 + 42 = 86
43 + 42 = 85
41 + 42 = 83
41 + 43 = 84

The last round was the most remarkable one because the 41 on the front is including an 8 on a par 4. I am pleased I'm staying away from the 90's.

"A Positive Experience"

Marc:

Jane and I spent a fantastic 3 days with Hayden and we were absolutely blown away by his professionalism, dedication, wit, and teaching abilities.

GMS really resonated with us, after years of struggling with "instructors" who were only interested in making us swing like PGA pros, we finally feel like this is a true breakthrough for both of our games.

There is so much more I could say about the positive experience we had, but time doesn't allow me to write more at this time.

"GMS Was Worth Every Penny!"

Alex - I attended GMS February 22nd to 24th and I have to say it was worth EVERY penny. Before GMS I was the kind of golfer that could shoot a good 18 holes, but more often it was 47 on the front and 51 on the back for a 98.

Since GMS I have shot 78, 88, 86 with much more consistency and solid contact in both the short and long game.

Proof of the technique: The first round after the 76 was with my golfing buddies; they razzed me about the 78 and asked if I was going to shoot a 77 today. 'Come on and show us that $3,000.00 golf swing.' Needless to say I was the most nervous I had ever been on the first tee, but I told myself to have no swing thoughts and just make a smooth 'tick-tock' swing and proceeded to stripe it down the middle.

This program JUST WORKS for understanding how to hit the ball. Be it a putt, chip, pitch, bunker, approach, or drive. In all honesty, if I keep doing the drills, the 29 Ball Warm-up and practice as I was taught; I should be able to improve -10 strokes off my handicap this year.

"My Driver Is Now The Best Club In My Bag"

Hi Hayden:

Let me say again how much I enjoyed the three-day program at La Quinta with you and Wat. The two of you made the three days very fun. I was surprised at how much I learned and how well it has sunk in.

Over the last three days, I played three different courses in Santa Barbara. For the first time ever, I felt like a real golfer. I had so much confidence in my game, which made playing that much more enjoyable.

You may recall that I only started using a driver at your suggestion as previously I could not hit one. A week after GMS I bought a new TaylorMade Driver and right away it is the best club in my bag.

I could tell you about playing one of my best games ever yesterday, but what impressed me more was today when I started off shaky, falling back into my old habits. It could have been a bad round, but I went back to what we learned in Golf Made Simple (tick-tock, hit golf ball then ground, step forward) and turned my game around. On the last two par fours, I hit two long drives, 260 and 270 in the fairway, and a nine iron and sand wedge into the greens. Such a good feeling.

I am already planning to take the course again next year.

"Better Than I Could Have Ever Thought"

Hi Alex,

My experience at GMS was better than I ever thought. "Life Changing" would be a good word. I thought I knew how to play golf, but I only knew how to "hit" the ball. I was doomed to be a lifetime 95 golfer. My Instructor Chuck was amazing.

Unfortunately with most other golf instructors who change your swing, when you get on the course, you fall apart trying to remember what the instructor said. With GMS, you improved my swing on the golf course. Chuck helped me to find "my swing." As long as I stick with the simple foundations; have a good PLAN and of course the "Tick-Tock", it becomes easy to get back on track and avoid total destruction on the course.

I also have to mention the sand shots. I was terrified of those situations, as it would sometimes cost me the most strokes. Now, not only am I able to get the ball out of the sand every time; but, I can get it close to the hole every time as well. This gives me greater opportunities to score-instead of steering toward hazards to avoid the sand.

Wishing you all well,
